Youth across the SADC region face limited access to policy spaces and decision-making forums, with existing leadership structures often failing to provide meaningful avenues for young people to contribute to development agendas. While platforms such as the African Union Youth Assembly and SADC youth summits exist, many youths lack the resources, support, and training needed to participate effectively.
SADCYN works to position young people as key actors in decision-making spaces by facilitating their representation at national, regional, and global platforms. This theme targets youth organizations, emerging leaders, and young policymakers by creating opportunities for participation in SADC forums, African Union youth assemblies, and international conferences. Programs include capacity-building for youth delegates, networking events with policymakers, and advocacy campaigns to institutionalize youth representation in governance structures.
